Drury Update on the Last Year (2009)

Welcome to our family update site – we post here annually on what happened the previous year in each of our lives. We all went on a family vacation to Gatlinburg, TN this year (enjoying hiking in the mountains, the aquarium and the hot tub at our Chalet). Scroll down to see the other pics and details from the year.

Be sure to leave a comment here to let us know you stopped by!

Lauren 2009 Update:
  • Lauren loves singing and dancing (see her videos on Kathy's Facebook).
  • Had swimming lessons.
  • Goes to MOPS, Sunday School, Story Time and Club Splash each week.
  • Dressed as Cinderella for Halloween. (As well as many other days of the year.)
  • She hiked a 5 mile trail in the smoky mountains with the family!
  • Quote of the year: "When we go on top of the mountain can we say 'Hi' to God?"
Karina 2009 Update:

Maxim 2009 Update:
  • Max was in Program Challenge (an advanced computer class after school and in the summer).
  • He ran a mile in 8 minutes and 43 seconds (a bit more than twice the time of a professional).
  • Had tennis and swimming lessons.
  • He made a birdhouse in Club Splash (in order to raise money for wells in Zambia).
  • Spent many hours playing Legos and Heroscape.
  • Now officially knows much more Star Wars trivia than most fans.
  • Quote of the year: [Upon agreeing with his mother unexpectedly] "I'm getting older, so I'm starting to think like you now."

  • Enjoyed MOPS this year (on the leadership team in Spring).

Merry Christmas Drury's! Not even sure when I put your yearly blog in my feedreader, but nonetheless, it was a nice surprise to see your faces again and read about your year. Cute kids you two! May you have a blessed advent season. - Sheila (and the rest of the Addison crew)

The Hornes love the Drurys!!! Thanks for the update. Nice work on running a 5K, Kathy. I did that once, too. I ran so slow that I kept pace with the people at the end of the race who would run, then walk, then run, then walk. Yeah, I'm REALLY slow! So I gave my running shoes away and bought some walking shoes. Love you guys!

So good to see your faces! We still miss you guys a lot. Your kids are growing up and get cuter every year. I especially loved reading the quotes--gives a bit of insight into who they are. So good to hear you're continuing to write, Dave. I'm looking forward to SoulShift!

Enjoyed reading -- since we rarely take time to talk. FB and blog is a great way to get updates -- when time is in short supply. God bless you all. We were once a family of 5 --- and now we are 12! Just think what you have ahead!

Hey Drurys!!

Great to read your update! It's fun reading updates on kiddos a little older than ours...getting some fun parenting ideas! :)

Would have loved to connect w/ you when we were in Marion last weekend, but it flew by & we didn't have a chance.

Blessings,
